Athletics Victoria Membership

The committee is pleased to announce the Melbourne Marathon Spartans Club affiliation with Athletics Victoria (AV) as a Recreational Running Group. Athletics Victoria is the governing body for athletics in Victoria and is a member association of Athletics Australia. The Melbourne Marathon Spartans Club has obtained Public Liability insurance cover through this membership.

Verified Spartan members and Incoming Spartans for 2025-26 can become registered individual members of Athletics Victoria by paying the Recreational Runner annual membership fee of $12.50. The benefit of having this membership includes personal accident insurance for events and training, such as attendance at the Sunday Club Runs. An overview of the cover appears on the Athletics Victoria website https://athsvic.org.au/av-insurance/. Spartans who are a member of Athletics Victoria through another club do not need to register.

The AV membership year is 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.

I am a Spartan or Incoming Spartan. How do I pay for Spartan club membership?

We are accepting Spartan members membership fee for the financial year 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. Annual fee is $45.

I have already paid my Spartan club membership this financial year. Can I still pay to join AV?

Yes you can but only through the club’s Revolutionise Sport site page. Please refer to the How to Join section below.
We have set up our membership options to be able to register for either:
• AV Rec Runner membership; OR
• AV Rec Runner membership and Spartans Club membership fee

The first step of the registration process will ask you to choose between registering as a RETURNING MEMBER or NEW MEMBER of Athletics Victoria. A RETURNING MEMBER will have an existing username and password and will have been a member some time after 2019. Returning members will be asked to verify their name, DOB and gender identity.

You will be emailed a receipt at the completion of your registration.
